This filament printed beautifully, and I didn't have any issues with it at all. It was not stringy and stuck with no problem to my build plate! I loved the coloring, and my wife ordered some more after we used this one up! Definitely recommend!
I typically prefer functional prints over decorative ones, so I’m not the biggest fan of color-changing filament. However, for occasions when I want to create something fun as a gift, this filament is a great option. It has an appealing appearance and prints well on my Bambu Lab X1 Carbon. Given its performance and price, it may be worth considering for those who enjoy this type of filament.
This filament feeds smoothly into Creality K1 Max. It comes vacuum packed, but the box is reusable for storage, so long as it’s not ripped open. The white coloring is slightly matte and has a smooth texture. Anything made with this PLA filament is not bendable, it will be rigid. But it’s nice to know it’s made from environmentally friendly materials.
I got a chance to test this 1 kg spool of silk rainbow PLA from Lovoon. I haven't used their stuff before, but I really enjoy silk filaments--especially color changing ones.
I did my usual test prints to check for ideal temperature, flow, and retraction. I settled on a typical silk 220 C and retraction of .8 mm at 20 mm/s on a direct drive. It flowed a little easily so I kicked back my flow 1% from typical.
This was a pleasure to print--no stringing or hairs. Like most silks, it sticks to the bed incredibly well (too well if you squish it too much). The color change is pretty quick. Even on a benchy I got a slight color change through it. It made some amazing dragons with several different colors on there. And, it has a nice shine to it.
I'm really pleased with how this silk worked out.
